Q: How do I go about getting equipment?
A:
| |
 |
General equipment orders are initiated by your Doctor, Physical Therapist,
or Occupational Therapist. |
| |
 |
Since most equipment requires a Doctor’s prescription and Letter of
Medical Necessity, items that you think will help your child need to be discussed with your medical team. |
| |
 |
Then you or your therapist will call us to schedule an evaluation. |
Q: How long will it take to get my equipment?
A: This question requires a three part answer:
| |
 |
How fast can all necessary paperwork be completed and assembled (i.e.
Letter of Medical Necessity, insurance forms, Doctor’s prescription, CSHS form) - 1-3 weeks. |
| |
 |
Insurance or funding source approval - usually 4-6 weeks |
| |
 |
Ordering, receiving, assembly, and delivery of equipment - Some items
that require no assembly can be shipped direct. Custom wheelchairs, on the other hand, may have parts from several different manufacturers and can take 4-6 weeks to complete the process. |
Q: Who pays for the equipment?
A:
| |
 |
We bill third party private insurance companies |
| |
 |
North Carolina Medicaid including CAP Program & Children’s Special
Health Services (CSHS) |
| |
 |
Tricare |
| |
 |
Assistive Technology |
| |
 |
Private funding such as credit card, check, cash, or purchase order |
Q: How about service?
A:
| |
 |
We service everything we sell |
| |
 |
Most service jobs are done at your location.
Occasionally an item will need to be brought to our Service Department but this is rare. |

| |
 |
Being a Certified Repair Center gives us superior technical support and a

Q: Getting equipment seems to be a process. How am I informed along
the way?
A:
| |
 |
At initial evaluation your CM&S Territory Manager will give you an
idea of how long it will take to complete each step of the process. |
| |
 |
When we receive approval to order the equipment, we will notify you and
your child’s therapist that the equipment has been ordered and the estimated delivery time. |
| |
 |
We will notify you if the equipment is being shipped directly to you. |
| |
 |
Once the equipment has been received, assembled, and ready for delivery we
will schedule a delivery time that is convenient for you and your therapist. |
